Tweet this comment Cancel Submit Comment Subscribe to None Replies All new comments Sumner Newscow report — On the first night of cold Friday night football, Peyton Winter scored three touchdowns for Conway Springs as the Cardinals beat Whitewater-Remington 42-7.Conway Springs scored twice in the first quarter, and then built a 35-7 lead by halftime.Winter had six carries for 33 yards, and all three of his scores came on short runs.Colin Koester completed five of seven passes for 101 yards and a touchdown. Koester also had 116 yards on 14 carries and another score.Koester threw a touchdown pass of 44 yards to Jonathan Wright on the opening series. Wright had three catches for 62 yards.The defense also got in on the scoring for Conway Springs when Cole Schulte intercepted a pass and returned it 10 yards for a touchdown.Whitewater Remington scored in the second quarter on a 9-yard run by Cole Sommers.Conway Springs had 253 yards rushing and 101 passing for a total of 354. Whitewater-Remington had 236 yards of total offense.Conway Springs is now 5-1 and the schedule gets harder after having played winless teams two weeks in a row.Next week Conway Springs hosts 3-3 Chaparral.  The Cardinals close the regular season the following week at 6-0 Garden Plain.Follow us on Facebook.Follow us on Twitter.last_img
