In his first international foray as the city’s chief executive, Villaraigosa discussed municipal security with Scotland Yard officials and has additional meetings today to discuss protecting public transportation systems. Today’s schedule also includes a meeting with the London Olympic Operating Committee, which won the right to host the 2012 Summer Games. Villaraigosa hopes to talk strategy with the London panel as L.A. vies with two other U.S. cities to host the 2016 games.
