first_imgUttarakhand has launched the first helicopter service between Haldwani and Munsiyari town, offering tourists the chance to enjoy the aerial view of the Himalayas.The service, known as heli-taxi, will be run by the tourism authority of Kumaon region and will provide an aerial view from a height of 8,000 to 10,000 ft.“A guard would be available whole time for the security of the helicopter and the services. The service is primarily for Munsiyari but when you fly, you have a wide view of the Himalayas and it is a spectacular view during the sunny days. The service is also for those who have not visited Munsiyari ever,” said District Magistrate of Nainital, Deepak Rawat.The service costs `15,000 for a return trip and `8,000 for one-way, with 14.5% tax added to it. The whole journey would take 90 minutes, with the oneway flight taking 45 minutes.Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Dinesh Dhanai congratulated the initiative and added that the service would be beneficial not only for the tourists but also the residents of the area.last_img
