Five Things I Think, I Think I Think! – WWE Version

first_img Related TopicsAJ StylesJohn CenaLanaRusevTotal DivasWWEWWE Summerslam Since the WWE announced the brand split and draft, many had questions on what would become of it and if it would turn around the stale product. After the first 14 days, I think I think I think, Five ways it has succeeded. This article is brought to you by – After the last several weeks of WWE it appears to be they are finally starting to listen to their fans. They are giving pushes to guys like Cesaro and Ziggler. These are two guys that have brought the fans to their feet for years only to be squashed time and time again. This finally may be the time they get a decent push with gold in their futures.2 – The Tag Team Division is back for good. Both rosters are loaded with teams that fans will pay their money to see. Plenty of youth in both divisions as well as veteran teams to both cheer for and boo. It truly is a renaissance in the WWE tag team division. 3 – Squash matches are good for business. It is a blast from the past to see these weekly squash matches but something that will be effective in setting up the monster heels to be unstoppable. I love what they are doing with the local jobbers getting squashed by Nia Jax and also Braun Strownman. This is great booking!4 – Having Roman Reigns challenge the Bulgarian Brute Rusev is a genius idea. The WWE has been trying to get Roman Reigns over with the fans for the last year and continues to fail. This is the perfect way to do it. It has been a sure fire way since the 1980’s to get the fans behind the wrestlers. Have them face someone from a different country that routinely puts down America. Such as Hulk Hogan vs The Sheik. Hulk Hogan vs Sgt. Slaughter. Lex Luger vs Yokozuna, John Cena vs Rusev, etc…..5 – After viewing her pictures over the weekend from her wedding with Rusev. Lana remains the hottest diva in WWE. Mix in her with Maryse and the Miz, and add in Renee Young with Ambrose, and this upcoming season of Total Divas remains must see television. It will be so pleasing to the eyes with Lana and Maryse, you can even watch it without the sound on, and be just fine, enjoying it even more! This has been Five Things I think, I think I think.Brought to you by Vince McKeelast_img read more

Sexual harassment allegation made against police chief

first_imgBy DINA ARÉVALOPort Isabel-South Padre Presseditor@portisabelsouthpadre.comA woman has filed a sexual harassment complaint against Port Isabel Chief of Police Robert Lopez.Sandra Del Rio, who works as the chief’s assistant, filed the complaint with Port Isabel City Manager Jared Hockema at City Hall last Wednesday afternoon, Hockema confirmed.Asked if a complaint had been made against the chief and if Del Rio was the person who had filed the complaint, the usually loquacious city manager responded succinctly, saying simply “yes” to each question during an interview after Tuesday evening’s special meeting of the Port Isabel City Commission. The city manager said Del Rio visited him at City Hall at approximately 3:30 p.m. last Wednesday, May 9, but declined to go into specifics about the nature of the allegation, saying he needed to confer with the city attorney before he could divulge more details.Reached at his office, Chief Lopez also declined to comment on the record and referred any further questions to the city manager and city attorney. “It involves a personnel issue and I think the city attorney or Jared would be the ones that should answer,” Lopez said.In response to the allegation, Hockema said he asked Del Rio if she would prefer to continue her job duties at another location while the investigation took place.Want the whole story? UWF’s Davis Selected to Attend NCAA Leadership Forum

first_img“One of the most amazing things about this leadership forum was the people,” Davis said. “More than 300 student-athletes and administrators, from all different sports, schools, and divisions came together because of a common passion for competition and camaraderie. #ARGOS# Print Friendly Version “This is the key to successful leadership. It was eye-opening to see all the other aspects that played a role in conveying messages, goals and culture. Consistency, clarity and confidence are among the key attributes of speaking and acting as a leader. Open-mindedness in listening and willingness to serve are also among important attributes in being an effective leader.” “I loved the fact that administrators, such as coaches, directors of communication and advisors were a part of the groups, because we all got to share valuable insight on our positions that we wouldn’t have known otherwise,” Davis said. “I learned numerous things from our discussion group sessions, but one thing that I believe encompasses all the others is effective communication. The forum was created in 1997, and nearly 5,000 student-athletes have been chosen from an elite group to attend the event since then. The event provided Davis and others the opportunity to express what it means to be a student-athlete, gain a deeper understanding of the NCAA and show the value of student-athlete advisory committees around the nation – which Davis is a member of at UWF.center_img PENSACOLA, Fla. – UWF women’s basketball sophomore Jade Davis was chosen by the Gulf South Conference office to attend the NCAA Division II Student-Athlete Leadership Forum in Phoenix, Arizona, from April 7-10. The Leadership Forum places student-athletes, coaches, faculty and administrators in positions to learn and teach leadership skills, personal values, core beliefs and behaviors from each other. Each athletic conference in the NCAA from Divisions I, II and III selected three student-athletes from their member institutions to attend the Leadership Forum. Following an application process that included writing an essay on why she believed she should be nominated, the GSC chose Davis, along with Jacob Tucker of North Alabama and Kirwa Sosteen from West Georgia. “I met people who played field hockey, I met people from my hometown, I met people from Hawaii, I met people from schools I can’t even pronounce – the athletes here couldn’t have been more diverse.”last_img read more

€90m mega Arsenal signing could round off Arsene Wenger’s final season…

first_imgKylian Mbappe is very much the man of the moment after his impressive performances for AS Monaco saw him find a way into Didier Deschamps France squad. Deschamps has a lot of options upfront and Mbappe faces strong competition but he’s pushed aside the likes of Anthony Martial to get a place in the selection.Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made no secret of his admiration for the youngster, and in Wednesday’s edition of Marca the Premier League club are put forward as competition for any Spanish sides who want to make the signing.Marca estimate that Mbappe’s price could already be up to €90m, perhaps including add-ons, and former Athletic Club Bilbao and PSG coach Luis Fernandez is quoted as saying the 18 year old could end up being better than Thierry Henry.Normally, €90m would see Arsenal out of the game. The club have excellent finances but it’s just not considered likely they’d pay such a fee. But perhaps this one could be different.Should Wenger continue for a further season, the club may want to see him go out with a bang, and more pointedly make sure his successor has a good base to work on and can secure that all important Champions League football every year.Arsenal likely wouldn’t have to pay Mbappe the sort of wages big transfers like Paul Pogba demand, which means the overall cost of the deal wouldn’t be quite as prohibitive. Such a huge signing in the summer would lift many of the clouds around Arsenal and give an optimistic slant on a potential Wenger swan-song.€50m/€60m for Alexandre Lacazette, who turns 26 years of age in May, or a structured deal worth up to €90m for Mbappe, who doesn’t turn 19 until December? ‘Unhurried’ – Club taking their time over selling player to Everton,…

first_imgBarcelona are in no rush to sell André Gomes, and are ‘unhurried’, the Spanish media reports today. RAC1 (via Sport) claims that although Everton are looking to find a deal with the Catalan side as soon as possible, Barça want to wait until the end of the spell to negotiate for him.The reason for it is because Barça may benefit from the situation. With Gomes currently impressing for the Toffees, the expectation is that they will have many offers for him in the summer.Signed by Everton on a loan with a €2.25m fee last summer, Gomes first struggled a bit with an injury, but was quick to find his place in the team when fit, having started in the Toffees’ last eight games in the Premier League. This news comes at the same time as Tottenham’s interest in the player was reported, so it’s no surprise if Barcelona try to make an action for the midfielder next year.On the Spurs interest, the club have been linked repeatedly for years, often seemingly for no better reason than them being linked Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameIf You Like to Play, this City-Building Game is a Must-Have.
